The Christmas season is coming to an end and the crowds of people are descending on shopping centers; each person set on finding a bargain in the January Sales, which this year started in the last week of December. If you simply feel like getting away from it all, then this is also the season of cheap holidays.
There are many excellent package holiday deals around, so where is a good place to go after all that festive cheer? If you have been a little over-indulgent then somewhere you can get a little exercise and regain your pre-Christmas trim might be a good idea.
There are many post-Christmas walking holidays available both in Britain and abroad and they are a great way to work off those too many mince pies. They are also great for meeting new people and making now friends. Hill walking holidays in England and Wales are great at this time of year as long as you wear the right gear, though you can enjoy a more clement time in more southern climes with Spain, Southern France and Italy being popular destinations.
Spa breaks are also a great way to get over those post-Christmas blues. Spending your time in the gym, in the swimming pool and in the sauna will soon work off those extra pounds, and a special spa treatment of two will leave you looking and feeling great.
On the other hand, if you feel that you might be missing out on those January sales, then there is a solution. It is not only in Britain that we have sales; they have them on many other places too. One such place that is proving to be very popular is Las Vegas. There you will find many top designer outlets with unbelievable bargains, better than you are ever to find at home.
Perhaps you are missing the sun and what you really would like is to just soak it up in some tropical paradise. The Caribbean is great at this time of year, and what could be better than a leisurely cruise round its many islands, spending your time on some of its many beaches, and maybe enjoying some water sports.
This this is also a popular time of year for skiing and you will find many past minute skiing packages. In many ski resorts it is often January that has the best snow for skiing.
