Welcome to Intel Mixx Blog ..
Holidays are great and we all need them if only to get away from it all and recharge our batteries, but even with holidays it is easy to get stuck in a rut. If you want to get away from that old sun, sand, sea and city routine, then why not try something that is entirely new. The world is full of opportunities for holidays with a difference.
Probably the best way to go out this is to pick a country that you would like to visit, and then tailor a different kind of holiday around your trip. You might also be tempted to visit a country to which you can get discount flights, and the winter months are a great time for finding cheap flight deals.
Once you have chosen your destination then you can be imaginative regarding what you will do when you get there. For instance if you are looking for a winter break that doesn’t involve skiing, perhaps a trip to Iceland might fill the bill. You could include a snowmobile trip, a glacier trip, and take a dip in the natural springs.
Perhaps your chosen destination is Australia. If so, then rather than do all the usual things that Brits do there, for instance lazing their time away on Bondi Beach, then take a trip across the outback, visit a sheep farm, and go on a safari in the rainforest.
The important thing is to be adventurous, and aim to come away from your holiday rich with new experiences rather than with a suntan; though there is nothing wrong with coming back with both.
Another approach to holidays with a difference is to further your education in either the arts or the sciences. There are many organizations that offer learning holidays in writing, painting and photography where you are taught by known experts in the various fields.
If science is more in your field, then you might choose to learn all about astronomy and the stars by spending some time at an observatory such as Mount Palomar in California or take an astronomy tour and see sights such as the Northern Lights and solar eclipses from the High Arctic.
Once you start thinking along these lines you are certain to come up with many new ideas about how to spend your holiday this year, so make an effort to do something different; it could be a holiday of a lifetime.
