Welcome to Intel Mixx Blog ..
So you have your surgery date set, next summer’s bikini ordered online, and a whole lot of excitement about your soon-to-be new curves! Or perhaps you’ve just started thinking about taking a step to boost your confidence or surprise your partner. Whatever stage you’re at, we want to help make the whole process as comfortable for you as possible. And a great part of that comfort comes in knowing what to expect from a breast enhancement procedure. Today, we’ll specifically address what can be expected in the hours and days following your operation.
The days following the procedure
As the anaesthetic wears off you will be given pain medication to help relieve any pain. Anaesthesia weakens your coordination and reasoning skills so you must not drive, drink alcoholic beverages, or operate any machinery for at least 24 hours. Of course, you will need to arrange for someone to drive you home after the operation. We strongly suggest you have a loved one stay with and look after you for the first 24 hours. Supervision is highly recommended after any operation with anaesthesia. And of course, having a capable person to attend to your needs while you’re not at 100% will make the recovery feel much smoother. Continue taking pain medication as advised by your surgeon if you need them. If you are bothered by itching or dryness, you may apply a skin moisturizer but avoid contact with stitches.
The weeks following the procedure
The stitches are taken out after approximately one week. If you have dissolvable stitches, the time frame for them to disappear depends on the particular type of stitches. For this procedure, they should usually disappear in about six weeks.
Depending on your specific operation and what you do for work, you may require two weeks off. You must not do any heavy lifting or arm or chest exercises for about a month afterwards. If your surgeon placed the implant under the chest cavity, you may need to reduce your activity for longer.
Some hardness, swelling and discomfort after surgery are to be expected. Bruising and pain may last a few weeks. Any scarring will typically fade to pink after around three months before then fading to white. Your breast skin and nipple may feel more or less sensitive after breast enlargement, but this usually improves over a few months. Breasts may enlarge and feel more tender during the first menstrual period after the surgery. Women may continue to feel pain, itchiness or even some numbness in the breast and nipple area for the next couple of months as the damaged tissues return to normal.
The months following the procedure
No more than three months after the procedure, you will be feeling completely back to normal. Or rather BETTER than normal with your enhanced confidence. At this time any pain and discomfort will be just a memory and scarring and discoloration will likely be unrecognizable.
